Dr. Michael Tierra L.AC. OMD, AHG is one of the forerunners of the North American Natural Health movement and was amongst one of the first groups of acupuncturists to be licensed in the country. He began his herbal studies in 1968. He began studying Ayurvedic medicine and yoga with Baba Hari Dass, in the 1970's. In 1976 Michael started the first wholistic health school in Santa Cruz, called the Garden of Sanjivani. He authored the nationally acclaimed herbals, The Way of Herbs and Planetary Herbology. In the late 1970's Michael received his C.A. and N.D. degrees, studied Ayurvedic medicine in India for three months and Chinese medicine and herbology in China for one and a half months. In 1989, he founded the American Herbalists Guild, an organization whose goal is to establish standards for the professional practice of clinical herbal medicine in the United States. He received his Oriental Medical doctor's degree (OMD) from the San Francisco College of Acupuncture in 1987 and was part of the first group from the United States to study herbal medicine in China. He is co-founder of the American School of Botanical Medicine, lectures throughout the world and founded The East West College of Herbalism with David and Sarah Holland.

Ted Anneberg, L.Ac. graduated from the Nakazono Kotatoma Institute in 1983, where he developed a deep respect for the study and application of traditional Japanese approaches to healing. He has been practicing and studying traditional Oriental medicine for over thirty years, applying Japanese style traditional acupuncture and moxibustion therapy with a no-nonsense pragmatism, through the use of ideas and techniques which have been found to be consistently effective in the clinic. She joined Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) as a classroom teacher and clinic supervisor in 1993, received her doctoral degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from OCOM in 2007 with the specialty of Women's Health and Geriatrics. She is currently the Chair of Oriental Medicine Department at OCOM. She has been a co-investigator for several NIH-funded grants including one on clinical research on Chinese medicine treatment of endometriosis. In 2003, she is one of the two recipients of the 2nd annual "Bridges of Integration" awards presented by the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation in US. In 2012, she received "Flying Horse" award from Northwest China Council for her outstanding serves to the local community for promoting Chinese Medicine in US.

Dr Weidong Lu born and raised in Ningbo, China, Weidong Lu has over thirty years of clinical acupuncture experience. Aside from his private practice, Weidong also established the Oncology Acupuncture department in 2000 at the Leonard P. Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the world's leading cancer hospitals, where he still leads the current team. He is also an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Additionally, Weidong's research in the field of integrative oncology has been the recipient of numerous grants, including from the National Institute of Health. His research primarily focuses on the symptom management and supportive care of oncology patients using integrative therapies, including acupuncture. He has published over 60 research papers and book chapters in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work nationally and globally, including countries in North America, Asia, and Europe.

TCM Protocols for Trigeminal Neuralgia (Bilingual)
Xiping Zhou, MDOM, L.Ac. earned his Bachelor of Science in Medicine from HeiLongJiang University in the Peoples' Republic of China, where he graduated at the top of his class. The degree he earned there licensed him as a doctor of both mainstream Western medicine (in China) and TCM. For several years, Dr. Zhou was on staff at the affiliated hospital of the HeiLongJiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He specialized in both individualized treatment and in diagnosis in herbs, acupuncture, and TuiNa (Chinese medical massage). In July 1993, while serving as chief physician and full professor at HeiLongJiang Medical College, Dr. Zhou was asked to visit the United States to speak at the National Conference of Acupuncture about his success in treating stroke patients with paralysis. From 1994 to 2000, he taught acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Midwest College for the Study of Oriental Medicine in Racine, Wis.

Modifications of Classical Chinese Formulas (Part 1)
This class will be looking at some of the most popular formulas in use in the TCM community and will go through common as well as uncommon uses for each with multiple modifications and clarifications of when and how they are used. Amy will identify the most popular formulas and their traditional and common uses. Attendees will learn the most common traditional and possible modifications for each of the formulas with discussion of symptom/sign complexes and TCM patterns as well as associated biomedical conditions and will be able to extrapolate based on what is taught to be able to modify formulas not covered in this class based on the concepts of how formulas can be modified to best fit symptom/sign patterns/unique individuals and presentations.

Shennong Relational Herb Learning Method (Using senses to learn about herbs)
In this course attendees will learn methods for safely using the senses of sight, touch, smell and taste on classically used Chinese herbs. These methods will be used in part to help recall and understand the typical information we learn about these herbs - their flavor, nature, areaas and methods of action, etc. But, attendees will also use the methods to forge a more personal and vital relationship with these herbs in ways that can increase comfort and efficacy in clinical practice.
Long-Covid & Classic Chinese Herbs The last three years have brought about many new challenges in healthcare, including for acupuncturists and herbalists. In this course, Eric will provide updated instruction on Chinese herbs helping to manage these new and evolving conditions associated with long-COVID. He will provide recommendations based on his clinical experience combined with historical usage of these Chinese herbs. Insight on an array of methodologies will be provided.
Eric Grey, L.Ac. received his undergraduate education at Oregon State University, earning degrees in Philosophy and Biology and completing graduate work in Applied Ethics. He then attended the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) earning Honors and graduating with his Masters degree in 2009. After licensure, along with practicing, Eric taught at NCNM until 2019. He contributed to curricular development as well as teaching Chinese herbs lab, Clinical Medicine, Practice Management and serving as a clinical supervisor. He is the co-founder of Watershed Wellness in Portland , OR, and now in Astoria, OR, where he practices acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
